The Glasgow Irvine Society
PREAMBLE
At a meeting of Gentlemen, natives of Irvine, resident in Glasgow, held at the Crow Hotel, George Square on January 31st, 1868, a wish was expressed that they should not be behind other Towns in Ayrshire, and it was resolved to form a Society, to be called “The Glasgow Irvine Society” for the following objects:

- To afford relief to persons who for various causes, are in necessitous circumstance;
- To promote good fellowship amongst the natives of Irvine in Glasgow.
